Stalchilds are Skeletons from Ikana.
Ocarina of Time
When Link is a child, Stalchilds will appear in Hyrule field at night. To avoid them, either wear the Bunny Hood or stay on the Brown path. If either is done, The Stalchilds won't appear. A more risky way is to keep on the move until sunrise.
Majora's Mask
The Stalchilds are part of the Ikana army and have been cursed by the Stone Tower. To gain their respect, approach them wearing the captain's hat. They also appear inside the Oceanside Spiderhouse.
